Management

Your brand

Put your own logo, colours and domain on the chat widget, portal and every email — so customers see only your brand.

Reading time · 5 min read

The Branding tab under Settings splits into two parts: email branding, available on every plan, and custom app branding + a custom domain, available on the Business plan and above.

Email branding (all plans)

  1. 1

    Upload a logo

JPG, PNG, WebP or SVG, max 2 MB, ideally around 120×32 px — or paste the URL of an image already hosted elsewhere.

  2. 2

    Pick a brand colour

Enter a hex value (e.g. #d7242a) used for buttons and accents in the email template.

  3. 3

    Check the preview

A live preview shows exactly what an agent reply email looks like with the new branding before you save.

Each brand (widget) can have its own email branding — leave the fields blank to inherit the company’s shared branding.

Custom app branding (Business and above)

When custom branding is enabled, your name, logo and colour replace the Spjallbox brand throughout the interface that customers and your team see.

  1. 1

    Enable custom branding

Turn on the "Enable custom branding" toggle.

  2. 2

    Enter your organization name

This replaces the word "Spjallbox" in the interface — e.g. "Len Support".

  3. 3

    Enter the logo URL

Must start with https:// — best size is 120×32 px. A preview appears immediately.

  4. 4

    Save

Changes appear instantly for your whole team and any customers visiting the chat widget or portal.

A custom domain for the app

Instead of using the Spjallbox web address, you can run the app under your own domain, e.g. inbox.yourcompany.com.

  1. 1

    Enter the hostname

Type just the hostname itself — no https:// or path — e.g. inbox.yourcompany.com.

  2. 2

Add a CNAME record to your DNS

Set up a CNAME record with your domain registrar pointing the subdomain to the value the system shows you.

  3. 3

Add a TXT verification record if asked

If the system shows an additional TXT record (from Vercel), it also needs to go into your domain’s DNS zone — otherwise you’ll see an error page even though the CNAME is correct.

  4. 4

    Click "Test connection"

Confirm the DNS points correctly and the domain is ready to use.

Sign-in on a custom domain needs manual activation

To make sign-in work on a custom domain, you also need to contact support to register the domain in the authentication system — this step isn’t automatic.

More than one brand

If you run more than one brand or website under the same organization, each brand (widget) can have independent email branding and its own chat widget appearance. The number of brands allowed depends on your plan: up to three on Business, unlimited on Enterprise.

How long does a DNS change take to apply?+

Usually within an hour, but it can take up to 24 hours.

Do I need a custom domain to remove the Spjallbox badge from the chat widget?+

No — the "Powered by Spjallbox" badge is removed on the Growth plan and above, regardless of whether a custom domain is set up.

What if the domain is already registered to someone else?+

The system shows an error that the domain is already in use — contact support to resolve it.
